Claudia B. Pius is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Personal, Family & Business Planning Practice Group. Claudia’s practice focuses on various aspects of contested and uncontested Surrogate’s Court matters, including accounting, probate, administration and miscellaneous proceedings. To complement her estate and trust litigation practice, she advises clients on estate planning, and estate administration.

Claudia advises fiduciaries on navigating the Surrogate’s Court system and fulfilling their duties. She appears on behalf of her clients in various Surrogate’s Court proceedings throughout five boroughs and Long Island.

Claudia received numerous appointments under the New York Part 36 fiduciary list as a court-appointed guardian ad litem to represent individuals who cannot appear in the Surrogate’s Court to protect their own interests and rights in probate, accounting, miscellaneous and SCPA Article 17 and 17-A guardianship proceedings.

In her planning practice Claudia assists clients with the preparation of a variety of estate and tax planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, healthcare proxies and revocable and irrevocable trusts.

In her administration practice, she advises clients in all stages of the estate administration process from petitioning the Surrogate’s Court through the collection and distribution of assets.

Prior to joining the firm, Claudia was an associate in the Trust and Estates department of a prominent Long Island firm.

Claudia graduated from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she served on the Editorial Board of the Moot Court Honors Board. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Gordon College.

Claudia is admitted to practice law in New York and is a member of the Surrogate Court Committees in various associations.
