Rivkin Radler Partner Nancy Del Pizzo recently presented at the third meeting of the Island Women Open Network (IWON) Committee meeting, as part of the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS DOCK) in Antigua and Barbuda. Nancy is also a member of the committee.

SIDS DOCK is a United Nations-recognized international organization that represents 32 small islands and low-lying developing states across the globe. IWON is the SIDS DOCK Women’s Sustainable Energy and Climate Resilience Network, intended to help build the capacity of women at the community and grassroots levels.

At the meeting, Nancy discussed the firm’s agreement with IWON to provide legal framework for its Botanical and Herbal Project, with the aim of kick-starting innovative micro-businesses, promoting climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and sustainable investments in clean energy. Nancy said, “the firm’s initial focus would be cyber security and protection of intellectual property, with the ultimate goal of aiding SIDS DOCK to access overseas markets ensuring regulations, laws and compliance guidelines for those markets and working closely with countries to ensure that gaps are closed within in-country systems.”

Nancy Del Pizzo first presented to SIDS DOCK back in 2017 at IWON’s first committee meeting, alongside attorneys Steven Shapiro and Marc Ullman.
