Sheinberg in AARP Magazine Story about Powers of Attorney
February 8, 2022 |Wendy Sheinberg was quoted in “You’ve Got the Power (of Attorney),” which appeared in the February/March 2022 issue of AARP Magazine. The article explains when and how to put this legal document in place for your parents.
Wendy explained that the creation of a power of attorney doesn’t immediately transfer power to another person. “Your parent is still the boss.” The situation is similar to having both a pilot and a co-pilot flying a plane, with the co-pilot in the jump seat. “The person in that jump seat isn’t going to take control unless something goes wrong or the pilot requests this.”
